Jonam LeBlanc was born in Petaluma, Ca, but grew up in San Diego. His family encouraged piano lessons; which he began at age 7. At 12 years-old he picked up a guitar. Traditionally trained as a jazz musician Jonam has a deep appreciation of blues, ragtime, swing, and big band sound.
"I was always captivated by the simple complexity of world roots music," says Jonam of why he loves reggae. Reggae was the main music of his high school years, and influenced him to pick up a bass guitar. Since the age of sixteen Jonam has played bass, and transitioned to a five-string.
Over the past decade he has played in bands such as Sticky Situations with Ikaika Beamer Music, and Shoreline Rootz. Jonam is a family man feeling blessed to be raising his kids in Southern California. He enjoys taking advantage of the beach, golf courses, and the mountains. He still finds time to keep making music, and make music a part of life.
